Catskill Charity Hike raises money for environmental stewardship and sustainable trail maintenance each year. This event is part of a bigger future — a network of sustainably built, maintained, and stewarded trails throughout the northeast United States. This year we will have raised at least $15,000 for trail stewardship and sustainable trail construction and maintenance in high-needs-area trails in the Catskills. At least $5,000 of the monies raised went to the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) trail crew performing over 100 miles of necessary trail work in the region over the course of five days. At least $10,000 of the monies raised went towards the New York New Jersey Trail Conference (NYNJTC) Summit Stewards Program. At least 100 people participated in our hike, and each participant raised at least $10 per mile hiked towards the goal. The event brought new people into contact with local businesses, generated interest in hiking in the outdoors in a sustainable manner, and created a lasting interest in the region. Thank you for giving your time and resources to making the Catskills a warm, friendly, and environmentally sustainable region for years to come.
